Yes, shapes like that change your perspective. Might have to try something along those lines.

Yes, that is another reason, I don't flock my bases. It takes away from the "visuals" of the model(s), IMO. And they could be easy enough to make by cutting and filing sheet plastic or wood. To the shape you desire. I usually only use those on some Aliens.
