Looks interesting. The US Army Historical Series ("Green Book") volume on the Lorraine Campaign is also very good. Anyone who thinks that Patton could have blown through to the Rhine if he'd just been given all those supplies that went to Montgomery should read that. The truth is that by September 1st the pursuit was over and it was going to take hard fighting to go the rest of the way. |

I agree and it does seem that the latest historical consensus supports that. Mythology aside, he's still a fascinating character. |
