So, this other discussion drew my focus to something that I fiddle with de vez en cuando. The whole appropriate/funny name that correlates with a job.

I make lists of such thing sporadically, compile them, then refer to the compilations when writing scenarios. My current fave:

I second John the (occasionally semi-)Greater on Dr. Harry Beavers. The wife of one of the Associated Press reporters I worked with was his receptionist.

I was in the Army with both a General Johnson (who was a sergeant) and a Sergeant Sargent, inevitably known as Sergeant Squared.
