So, this other discussion drew my focus to something that I fiddle with de vez en cuando. The whole appropriate/funny name that correlates with a job.

I make lists of such thing sporadically, compile them, then refer to the compilations when writing scenarios. My current fave:

I was in the Army with both a General Johnson (who was a sergeant) and a Sergeant Sargent, inevitably known as Sergeant Squared.

The Ineffable Janet once interviewed a fertility expert named Peter Dickey.

I have served with both a Colonel (Andrew) Sargent and an Ensign/LTjg (Jennifer) Sargent (not related).

I've said it here before, but I had appointments with Navy dentist Dr. Payne (Don't know her first name.) and Navy Urologist Dr. (Alex) Wong.

And in my hometown, there was the Leavitt funeral home.
