Yes, very sad, the soundtrack of my youth. Spending the day listening to his first few albums. |

He was a hero, and more for just one day. As this is a wargames forum, I'll dig out a copy of "Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence" to watch. |

Didn't care for his vocals but he lead an interesting and seemingly fulfilled life. |

I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring. I always had a repulsive need to be something more than human. I felt very puny as a human. I thought, " that. I want to be a superhuman. I'm an instant star. Just add water and stir. |

Goodbye Mr. Bowie. His passing reminds me that I'm no longer young. |

Sad. He will be missed. I was just listening to his "Heathen" CD a little earlier this week. |

Listening to his classic albums now. He was the first musician whose albums I collected and I wish I still had the vinyls for nostalgic reasons. Great covers. |

His music has always be a big part of my life even of my early childhood; My older brother played him all the time. It actually reopened the hurt of that same brother passing away recently. Of course I just showed my the kids the Snowman Movie where he makes a cameo at the start. |

Future Legend always springs to mind when I think of any sci if or post apocalyptic game and vice versa. One of the blokes in college had a habit of shouting "this ain't rock and roll, this is genocide" after a few beers, or even before, which could get a bit taxing. As a teenager I think I was just a bit to young to understand, or even try to understand what the heck some of his songs were about at the time – I found Springsteen much more accessible. But the man had awesome talent and like Lennon, seems to have gone just when he was hitting a new period of creativity. If you've not found yourself humming even a few bars of Zigggy Stardust today, there really is no hope for you…. |

In Labrynthe, he thrilled me and scared me at once. I will forever suspect that his Diamond Dogs album was the inspiration for the movie Escape from new York. link YouTube link |

Whether or not Diamond Dogs inspired Escape from New York, which it probably did and I really need to watch that again, both were major influences on Metal Gear. Hell of a lot of Bowie in the latest one, I've heard. |
