Here are some defense satellites that I plan to include in the Full Thrust fleet book covering planetary defenses. They are scratchbuilds, using modified Ground Zero Games mini hover drones as the main body.

Version that carries 2 extended range Salvo missile packs (missile packs are Ground Zero Games V15-ACC29 ):

Version with one extended range Salvo missile and 4 Rocket Pods (2 per lower pod assembly). Rocket Pods are Brigade British missile turrets that have been smoothed on the sides and the turret ring removed.

Variant that carries a beam-3, 360 degrees. Turret is a Brigade British gun turret:

Can hardly wait for the whole panoply for the book, OR the book. ;->=

Come to think about it, or the gauntlet you'll make for an opponent with them!

Doug, it's going to be a BIG book. :)

Steady progress is being made, will have further updates at some point.

They look too much like starships as opposed to
spacestations. Nice though. I will steal your idea.

Well you could chop off the "engines" in the rear if you want. I may do so for the beam-3 variant as it requires no drive to change facing since it's weapon is 360 degree. I forgot to do so while making the prototypes.

Station-keeping/maneuver thrusters should be smaller, but I wasn't going to quibble, at least until you had the book finished.

Never bite the hand that feeds you, at least, til the bowl is set on the floor. ;->=

I went ahead and removed the thrusters from the beam turret armed version, since the design didn't have them (no need). Here's what the beam-3 version looks like without the thrusters:

What are you saying the pods to the side are? I assumed they included 'station-keeping', which could rotate if needed, just not actually battle maneuver.

I was calling the pods to the side the mounting rails for various weapon fits. One could say they include turn thrusters though, I guess.

These are very cool. These could also work for drones for 15mm or 28mm ground games.

Hi, Sean!

Actually, the basis IS 'Mini Hover Drones' from GZG, but Bill has made a wild variety, and, yes, would still work as drones.
