We played a rather entertaining game of Haggis (Lion) Rampant at the club Thursday gone. with the return of student James we decided to abandon for one week the campaign and go for a four player a side English vs Scots/Islemen bash.

Much fun was had by all- the rules always seem to produce a laugh as did the behaviour of one particular English player- please see the write up on Just Add Water Blog for more pics and military intelligence!:

There is also a selection of nice pics of Shaun's ACW collection in action for those who may be interested (Scroll down to bottom of page on blog).

A few of tasters:

Cheers,
Darrell.

I do absolutely love your paintwork, but I'm bewildered by the nature/composition of the army.

Sorry I'm a bit late in answering this…..

I do absolutely love your paintwork,

Thanks, that's very kind of you to say so :>)

but I'm bewildered by the nature/composition of the army.

Ah, you're not alone! Just kidding….

The campaign we've been playing is loosely set sometime in the C14 on the Border Marches of England and Scotland.

It's a skirmish campaign using the Lion Rampant rules.

The lists are drawn from the referee but are taken from archetypes in the Lion Rampant rule book.

Hope that helps a little?

Darrell.

Ah-ha; perfect explanation….the lists in Lion Rampant just defy comprehension from a medieval history perspective, but that's hardly unique!

Lion Rampant is more Hollywood than History.

I've added a n;livery for my Clan Cameron troops; I'm reasonably certain that they would have had no livery but it gels the retinue together so I'm happy with that.

Also, please bare in mind that I'm normally very anal about heraldry so it was a bit of a bog step for me too! LOL :>)

Know what you mean; I'm anal about medieval history, but your'rte quite right about the Hollywood aspect of Lion Rampant and the author is absolutely clear about that so best of luck to him.
