I'm really enjoying Gates so far. I haven'g got a game in (still building an army…I chose Algoryn as my army rather than one from the boxed set, so collecting is a bit slower), but really enjoying the models so far. I may have my first unit completely done by the end of tonite…! Damon. |

Well as someone who is a big fan of Tomorrow's War I found the battle report intriguing. It does sound like a better version of Bolt Action and I liked the homage to old school 40K, i.e., Rogue Trader. The only thing I am put off by is the game is geared specifically to the Warlord miniatures line. If Antares had been a bit more open source I would feel a stronger urge to purchase the game. I have tons of 15 science fiction for Tomorrow's War and same to be said of 40K models in search of another game system. And are we talking the usual army book money pit trap? One reason I like games likes Tomorrow's War, and Lion Rampant ( I know Lion Rampant is another genre) is that all you need to know is in one book. I am well over the codex creep model and having my wallet continually gouged. Now with all that stated the models look really interesting and far better than the original Kickstarter offerings. But again I already have stuff sitting not getting used. |

There is no codex trap I am aware of. 6 factions in the main book. As you might have noticed, I used existing minis to proxy the Isorians. Most factions could be easily proxied. Ghar would be hardest but could be done. Hell my At-43 red blok colossus would work. |
