Happy New Year guys, I think 2016 might just have to be the year of the Middle Byzantines (Maurikian – Nikephorian) in my neck of the woods. I have no Byzantines at all at the moment so I don't have to worry about compatibility with anything. Looking for complete ranges not just a few good figures. Looking to do complete armies not skirmish bands. What ranges do people recommend and why? Thanks, Nick |

I love my Khurasan miniatures. There are the range which is the most updated with the new historiography. Only one gripe and that is the spears, I would had preferred open-handed to use more inflexible metal spears. link |

Thanks KTravlos, they look good. I've never bought from Khurasan, do they work directly or through a 3rd Party? Can I buy On-Line? |

Personally, I prefer Essex over Khurasan Nikephorians. In addition to the Khurasan cast spears, the horses seem very thin. |

I actually am fine with the horses. A pro vs. Essex is that Khurashan horses come with good rectangular bases and not the thin strips of Essex. I have lost more essex horses to broken ankles compared to Khurashan. And essex spears are just as wobbly. Don't get me wrong. I like Essex, and 5 of my 8 DBA armies are Essex, but Khurashan is excellent. |
