They're going on about Shannara over on the Fantasy board; does anyone here think one of this author's books could make a good series?

I'd vote for Pandora's Star and Judah Unchained-- but only if they included the Alamo Avengers!

Peter F. Hamilton?

Well, you could check his website. If you've never read anything, I'd certainly recommend the two above,or Fallen Dragon for a singleton.

Fallen Dragon has a very interesting possibility for SF-games: the main character is (at first) a member of a company that buys debts from colonized planets and then lands on this planet to rob the people legally…

And it certainly is Peter Hamilton, not Fleming.

Porthos, you're right of course, apologies, I was thinking about two different authors simultaneously, always fatal.
Now I'm stuck with that embarrassing error. D'oh!

But aside from "that",have you read any of his others? I read the ones I mentioned twice, thinking of rereading the Void books, though he can get rather expansive.

Apologies to SpaceGhost, also, for what must have seemed a glib reply--at the time,I really did think I had written "Hamilton".

Must have been visualizing Alamo Avengers at the Legation!

Sad,really. I really must find that Middle Aged board…
