I have embarked on a project to build up 15mm armies made up from Tin Soldiers very unique looking ancients range. I love the figures and think they would be great for gaming with Neil Thomas' Ancient and Medieval Warfare rules. I am painting up classic looking hoplites and will add some of the Samnites, Campanians, etc to create armies for the Italian States. I also have a heap of Helleneistic pike, thorakitai and cavalry from Tin Soldier that I could make into an Epirot army.

My question is, has anyone seen Tin Soldier's Romans from their Italian States and Republican Roman armies? Can ITA5 (Latin/Roman Infantry) be used with the Republican Roman range to make a suitable early Roman army to fight the other Italian states (Etruscans, Campanians, Samnites) and the armies of Pyrrhus? I am pretty ignorant to what the Romans wore (chain, cuirass, hoplon, scutum, etc.) during this time. I am not overly picky, just want to be able to field reasonably accurate armies with the figures within the Tin Soldier ranges. Thanks!

We wait, we know they are coming, the scouts sent out by Sergeant Boot confirm our worst fears, the front line is overrun. They come but we are prepared, we will hold them for as long as we can.

We have overrun the British front line defences, our follow up battalions have our flank. We must now press on to the next line, I believe the Tommies call it their main battle line. We expect a strong opposition here, we also lack the element of surprise now, but our men are in fine spirits and we firmly believe we now have our enemy on the run…………………….
