I have traditionally stored my 28's in used cassette tape boxes – about 24" x 15" x 2.5", with lid and tuck flaps. However, my source for those dried up a long time ago and I cannot find a good source to replace them without spending an arm and a leg on shipping from an online box store. For example, I found one that would sell me 50 similar boxes for about $52 USD, but they also wanted $56 USD for shipping. Sorry, no. I do not want to use normal four-flap boxes, nor plastic bins or drawer sets (hate the smell). Pizza boxes do not have the requisite strength or height. Any ideas would be appreciated! |

I use A4 Box files with the restraining clip removed. Cost me about £3.00 GBP each and each one can store over 60 28mm figures. |

There are several companies that sell storage boxes for collectable card games and sports cards. I have found those to be sturdy and relatively inexpensive. I've also used the A4 manuscript boxes with the clips removed as MajorB mentions. |

Staples (as well as most office supply stores), sell a line of file storage/mailing boxes that I have used in the past. They come in variety of sizes. I would recommend checking out whatever office supply chain store is nearby where you live. |

Uline.com has a series of various depth boxes you make up to whatever depth you need: link I have them with magnetic paint to store minis for years. link
Hmm, looks like they went up on their minimum order from 25 to 100. Might not be the solution you need, but other companies may have them as well. |

with a craft knife, straight edge, and hot glue gun you can tear down corrugated boxes and refold and glue them in any size and configuration you want. With lids. Add custom dividers. Use double corrugated cardboard for very strong and durable boxes. Grab boxes from grocery stores or big box stores. Or in a pinch buy boxes cheaply for home moves from Lowes/Home Depot/UHaul stores. you're first couple of home built boxes will look like crap but you will improve quickly. |

I went down to the liquor store and asked if they had any old wine boxes out back, the guy gave me 10 of them. I took out the ribs that hold the bottles in place and they work great. Best of all they were free ! |

ditto to Waco Joe on Uline.com. I hundreds of their flip top, tablock boxes in various depths. link Shipping is reasonable. good quality, not time consuming to make. I like having all boxes the same foot print, just different depths. I get 18" by 12" and 2", 3", and 4" deep |

I remember a similar thread a while back. There was a suggestion that America does not have UK-style box files. Surely this can't be right? As MajorB says, they are ideal for storing figures. Cheap, strong, and just the right size. |

I also use U-Line. However, I use the card container boxes. 200lb test, IIRC. I buy them in groups of 25. Last batch I picked up 50. They are 1.5" deep. You can get 3" deep too. I bought my own pluck foam and wham commercial style storage boxes for about 5 bucks each. 12" by 18" I believe is the size. I love em! |

As a transplant to the US I can confirm that this benighted country does not have those boxes, and they are very useful – I used to use them for storing things like maps of assorted sizes, sheet music and so on I really like the Really Useful Boxes. They stack together very well, strong and transparent so you can see what is inside. Typically in the States, cost and storage space are less of an issue – it's just the way it is. For me I spent a lot of money on the figures and energy painting them, so a slightly expensive storage system is worth it John |

Italian shirt boxes from an "expensive" gents outfitter. The purchasers hardly ever take home the box leaving the shop with a huge amount of robust heavy card boxes that they're happy to give away. |
