Another AAR.. this time AH troops assaulting Russian forces in the Carpathians in 1915. It was one heck of a fight.

I've wondered about gaming some of the other than Western fronts of WWI. Looks like it could be interesting. What rules did you use?

I use the Great War Spearhead rules.

Our group has played a whole bunch of Eastern front games over the years, 1914-15. More fluid front than the west due to size.
I also have a big collection of Italians/AustroHungarians for doing that front. Our battles have oft had the Italians dying in droves trying to take a ridge or something, kind of like the real thing.

We also enjoy playing in the East. I have been using Field of Battle WWI for the most part. I have decent sized armies painted for it. I REALLY need to get my hands on some more Hat WWI Germans though. I love those figs!

Thanks,

John

Those are indeed nice figs.. although for late war I fell in love with those Revell figures … I still have a couple of boxes stashes away ( I bought extra because I'd heard that they were limited in availability) which one day may become a second late war division. Currently I have one div early and one late.. for GWSH you really need two divs (a corps) for larger games.

Mind you the largest games I tend to play in 6mm these days.
