The subject lines kind of sums it up – what company has figures in 15/18mm to run this battle?

Always start by Irregular.

Tin Soldier from England and also Bloodaxe Miniatures in Wisconsin. Black Hat has Abyssinians in their 15mm Colonial Range but no Italians.
I have some of the Tin Soldier figures for both sides and they are very nice.

Tin Soldier in Australia made a range of Italians that included metropolitan troops and native colonial infantry and cavalry, and also artillery.

It was sculpted by one of the Minifigs designers.

All I can add to the above is, perhaps, some useful figures from Eureka miniatures Abyssinian range.

There are two packs of Italians for sale in the marketplace right now.

As a latecomer I can only happily second all the comments before me.
The Eureka figures are very nice, almost lovely.
For my Abyssinians I have them, mixed with QRF (now TSS) Numidian Light Javelin men and Light cavalry, and Minifigs Mughal Indians matchlock men and command pack (Spearmen advancing and drummers). All mix very well.

The Tin Soldier Abyssinians command are also excellent and mix very well. The cavalry are fairly big. Some of the tribesmen such as the Massai and Somali have just a single pose. ( I like a lot of different poses).

The Black Hat figures (formerly Gladiator) are very different style wise, and I felt they didn't mix very well with my others and moved them on to a friend who likes them

The Tin Soldier Italians are what my Italian Army is made entirely from. Everything you could want but missing cav. You can happily use the Minifigs Egyptian cavalry 56CC Egyptian Dragoons 1881-85.

That's from the De Bello book,I thought it had been reprinted. Maybe by another publisher?

So,MB--have you made progress with this? I've been interested in a project ever since reading the Berkley book. Tried to interest 19TH Century Miniatures in it years ago,but no dice.

It's a pity that when manufacturers do colonials, they always seem to go for the "Big Three" first. And usually that's it. Can't blame them to much,if that's what sells.Just seems like other things could sell, too…
