Nice. I like the idea of using the potter chess pieces for statues. Also, I got the exact same gift this year as you. Have not gotten too far in the game though. I too was "scheduled" for other events. Matthew |

Really like how you managed to make it look like a City and not just a collection of bits thrown together. |

Thanks for all the comments – here and on the blog DKG – no snow on this board…I want to be able to use the terrain for other things |

Eric, As someone who strives to constantly improve the realism of the terrain I make, I have to say this is truly impressive!! One thing I have never done in all my gaming years is a big city board with snow. THIS is exactly what I envision. Your work almost reminds me of a gothic version of the ruins of Osgiliath from Lord of the Rings. The paint job you did in making the Harry Potter chess pieces into statues is just brilliant. I am on Ebay now picking up some of my own so I can have some statues in my town square! I can't wait to see the snow effects, it already looks amazing! |

Disgusting display of artistic talent and craftsmanship. He should be ashamed to present such a splendid Felstadt-On-Ice presentation! Harrrumph, even! (BTW, nice work there) |

Stunning work! I've also got a set of the Harry Potter Wizards Chess pieces that I bought for the same reason. Guess I should get to work on those… Normally I'm not a fan of the monochrome grey paint look, but this is quite the exception. When done at such a large scale it looks quite good and definitely brings all the different elements into one cohesive whole. Nice work with the Pegasus pieces as well. It's a pretty well thought-out and designed system. I used a couple sets a while back to make a cathedral. IMHO, making a complete and intact building requires a bit of work, but nothing that a little dremel'ing can't handle. link |
