My now complete Roman army (150-200AD) took to the field two days ago. It was a learning game for both me and my son and after three moves I was on the ropes, partly my own fault and partly because my lovely army didn't seem to want to fight. Then, in one fell swoop the enemy were vanquished and their king thrown at the feet of the Emperor, Victrix! Full report with maps and pictures here link

I've heard that newly painted armies are notorious for not fighting well. Maybe they don't like getting their nice, new, clean uniforms dirty? |
