Warboar Games has recently located from Bromley High Street to a new larger location in The Mall, very close to Bromley South train station. Billed as the, 'Largest Gaming Centre in London', they stock mainly sci-fi and fantasy (but have a few historicals) along with paints and brushes. Upstairs are several tables that can be booked for games. Further details at: warboargames.co.uk

Warboar shares the ground floor (and several more tables) with the Paradice Board Game Cafe (Paradice…Para-dice…board games…you see what they did there?). Probably over 150 games for you to choose from to play, everything from family games to card games to Eurogames to a couple of wargames, and most likely most things inbetween. The cafe serves a selection of hot and cold drinks and light snacks. Check with them first for the cost of table hire. Seem to remember it s £5.00 GBP a table for as long as you want during the week, and £5.00 GBP for three-hours table hire at the weekend.

Both have their own Facebook pages; Warboar: facebook.com/Warboar and Paradice: link

Worth a visit, especially if you have a few hours to spare and want to try out some board games.

I was there on Sunday, played a game of Mordheim upstairs. It was packed.
I was really impressed with the set up, they have lots of really nice terrain sets, loads of boardgames and the cheese and ham toastie I had was very tasty.
Highly recommend it if your in the area.

I am there this weekend for a tournament – great little store.

There is a reasonable sized Bolt action group there, and a wider group of general players. Well worth popping in if you're in the area.

How do I get there from central London? My wife and I hope to make a trip to visit relatives in the old country (Wales) this year, with some time in London too (If I'm coming all the way from Hawaii, I'm going to visit more than South wales).

Central London to Bromley?

Train from Victoria Station to Bromley South takes about 20 minutes. One goes every half hour or so. The Mall is less than 5 minutes walk from the station.

Sad to say I couldn't make it out to Bromley after all.
