I painted this Westphalia Miniatures cart from their Napoleonic miscellaneous range. I replaced the horse with a an Ironduke bullock from their Indian Mutiny Range and threw in some stores that I got from somewhere. I ended up with a cart that I will use in a 2nd Afghan War scenario.

Nice and gritty. Now all you need is the rest of the game to put it in the middle of! |

That would be a perfect objective piece in a skirmish game… "Hey, lads, there's FOOD!" |

The cabbages in the basket are teetering a bit with a high center of gravity. May not make it all that far. |

Painted the other one I had but put more beige/brown into the wood color. I like it better.

Agree with you, Bob, but both look good! |

Rhingyll, they both look the part. I'm sure they will look great on your table. Will they be used in the same scenario as the 40 pounders? Have you played anymore TSATF games recently? As usual please post pics of your game. JB |

SgtGuinness – Not been able to play any TSATF games lately as I have been too busy with my business. I started a game but was unable to finish it and ended up just putting it away. I have all 20/24 man units but now Mad Guru, may Allah curse his name, has got me thinking that all my units should have a left and right wing which would be 42 figures per regiment. And wouldn't you know it, you got the left wing of the 72nd Highlanders. Oh well, such is life. Below are some photos of a game that was never finished and it involved Afghans attacking a British Outpost at Wanat, manned by the 59th foot and a 6 pounder artillery gun, in the NWF after the Afghan attack on the fort and well at Sabray (my last TSATF battle).

And that's all there was time for before the game was stopped and, sadly enough, was never resumed and the figures and scenery were put away. |

Bob -- wow, what a fantastic Act One -- too bad you couldn't see it through to the middle and end. Still, thanks for posting the pics -- oh, and sorry if I led you from 20-24 figure battalions to 42 figure battalions! I swear, i only came up with that based on the 1:15 figure to man ratio that best fit the forces I used for Charasiab! Speaking of which… you are now in the same position I am, with just one of the two "Wings" of the 72nd Highlanders I need for my Charasiab scenario, since the other was generously provided by Sgt. Guiness, who then refused my kind and generous offer to take them off his hands, for cash and/or one or two of my trademark rocky wood-chip hills! In fact, I just bought another unit's worth of the raw lead from Perry Miniatures. If you and I lived less than half-a-continent apart, we could just game together, combine our units and field the full regiment of 42 whenever needed. Oh, well, maybe some day! By the way, I like those pink and white cherry trees in your orchard. Was thinking of buying some similar ones when I was recently in my local model RR shop to get some rubber stone wall pieces for an Afghan bridge I've been building. Now I think I will be going back to buy some of those trees… |
