Hi everyone, Happy New Year and all that, I was wondering if you could help me out. I recently dug out my original Space Marine game and I would like to re-create the Horus Heresy. I love the rules, however they don't differentiate between Imperial and Traitor marines in any fluffy way (Chaos powers, Legion differences etc), nor do they have stats for Imperial Guard. My question is: What ruleset would best recreate a fluffy battle, yet be quick, tense and dramatic? (we are likely to have 3 players per side) Am I better choosing NetEpic or Epic: Armageddon? Or should I go with something like Dirtside? Thank you very much in advance, Alan. |

I would go with Netepic , it's closer to the massive forces needed to the Hersey right. |

Cheers Wackmole. NetEpic Gold, right? With the order counters and whatnot? |

Bear in mind that when SM was out the fluff was that the traitors weren't yet full blown 'Chaos Space Marines' and were still using Codex organisations yada yada… They did produce rules for IG, Chaos, etc, which appeared various White Dwarfs. I'd probably go NetEpic as Epic was perhaps a little less clunky than SM IMO (which was just a cut down version of Rogue Trader) and will probably handle a larger battle more smoothly. Personally I never really got to grips with EA. |

Yes, NetEpic is probably your best choice. Which has a lot of EA in it … Which IMO, EA is the "best" of all iterations/attempts of/at Epic. With SM2 being the worst … |

OK, NetEpic Gold it is, seeing as I have found an online rulebook and Army Cards. Cheers everyone! |

NetEpic is good but there also a set of rules done by the same people just for Horus Heresy |
