I wonder how much of the record breaking in-take comes from multiple viewings. It's not insubstantial, but by how much?

For me, I was done at two – the second time was to make sure my initial disappointment was real.

haywire31 Dec 2015 8:03 a.m. PST

Only once so far. I was supposed to see it again but plans keep falling through.

Personal logo Aurochs Supporting Member of TMP31 Dec 2015 8:04 a.m. PST

I have seen it once and thatīs enough.

Wackmole931 Dec 2015 8:11 a.m. PST

I have seen it once and will only watch it again on cable or Blueray.

Once and enough, too.

Garand31 Dec 2015 8:14 a.m. PST

Once so far. Will probably wait until it comes out on Bluray to watch it again.

Damon.

coopman31 Dec 2015 8:14 a.m. PST

Zero so far.

Captain Gideon31 Dec 2015 8:18 a.m. PST

I saw it once but I intend to see it again in IMAX 3D sometime after the New Year.

And I will buy it when it comes out on Blu-Ray because I did like it.

Lou from BSM31 Dec 2015 8:20 a.m. PST

I saw it on Monday at the local IMAX theatre. THe visuals were fantastic, and the fight scenes were awesome. The plot left a sour taste though… I won't say anything else for the sake of those who have yet to watch.

Xintao31 Dec 2015 8:44 a.m. PST

I've seen it once in 3d, but will see it again. Most likely see it again in IMAX.

Xin

nazrat31 Dec 2015 8:46 a.m. PST

Not a classic but a lot of fun. I saw it once and will probably watch again when it comes on cable.

Rudysnelson31 Dec 2015 8:51 a.m. PST

Zero, I will wait until it comes out on DVDs. Medically I cannot do three d. Besides the cost is too high.

Once and enough for a while

I could only stomach seeing it once. It's been two weeks and I'm still bitter about it. Yuck!!!!

Personal logo Doms Decals Sponsoring Member of TMP31 Dec 2015 9:01 a.m. PST

Three times (I have a cinema membership though, which means repeat viewings are only a time outlay, not a financial one.) I suspect I'll go one more time, as I haven't seen it on the Imax screen yet.

Citizen Kenau31 Dec 2015 9:02 a.m. PST

Once. And that will probably be it.

Just once so far. I'm not a big SW fanboy who needs to see it 3 or 4 times: link

There are simply too many other new movies I want to see for me to rewatch the same ones over and over.

79thPA Supporting Member of TMP31 Dec 2015 9:06 a.m. PST

Zero. I used to know a guy who worked as a projector man at a theater and he saw Star Wars something like 150+ times. Of course, it was all for free.

mad monkey 131 Dec 2015 9:07 a.m. PST

Once.

f u u f n f31 Dec 2015 9:23 a.m. PST

I saw it twice. Once on my own and once with my brother. I will probably see it once more with my daughter.
While not as good as New Hope or Empire Strikes Back, I thought it was at least as good as Return of the Jedi.

Norrins31 Dec 2015 9:23 a.m. PST

Twice. Got invites from two different groups. Also, one was in 2d and the other was 3d.

Extrabio1947 Supporting Member of TMP31 Dec 2015 9:23 a.m. PST

To me, "The Force Awakens" is when my retired racing greyhound sprawls out of bed in the morning and won't quit poking me with his snout until I get up and feed him.

There's a movie?

Gone Fishing31 Dec 2015 9:31 a.m. PST

I haven't seen it yet. Have to admit I'm a little nervous about it.

Vincent Solfronk31 Dec 2015 9:33 a.m. PST

Once is enough. I also bought the soundtrack and thought it was bland as well.

Keelhauled31 Dec 2015 9:39 a.m. PST

Once, anymore & i will start to believe that George Lucas was a genius.

Twice

RavenscraftCybernetics31 Dec 2015 9:48 a.m. PST

Zero so far.

Dan Wideman II31 Dec 2015 10:28 a.m. PST

Twice. I guess I am in the TMP minority. I loved it even the second time. I put it in the top 3 SW movies. I'm not sure I can rank those 3 though. Having rewatched them all recently I actually didn't like Empire as much as I remembered. I almost fell asleep in the middle. Call me a heretic, but that movie has some pretty poor pacing with action at the beginning and end and essentially a lot of talking and emoting in the middle. Sort of like Attack of the Clones. (yes I said it). :)

Who asked this joker31 Dec 2015 10:43 a.m. PST

Once. And once is enough. I thought it was OK.

The Beast Rampant31 Dec 2015 10:45 a.m. PST

I'm curious but jaded.

I want to go see it, but my enthusiasm level is such that it may be out of the theaters my the time I get around to it.

Thomas O31 Dec 2015 11:00 a.m. PST

Once so far, will probably go see this weekend on the IMAX screen.

Martin Rapier31 Dec 2015 11:03 a.m. PST

Seen it once, I'll probably get the trilogy as a boxed set once they've done all three. I might watch it again just to go cameo spotting, although if they are all dressed like Daniel Craig, it will be hard:)

I only bought one of the prequels, and that was only out of loyalty to poor old Darth, revealed as a petulant child rather than Dark Lord of the galaxy.

We are long overdue a decent SW game though (the new SW Battlefront is extremely disappointing), so how about Jedi Knight III set in the Episode VII universe? If we are really lucky maybe Kyle Katarn will be dead by now.

Mick in Switzerland31 Dec 2015 11:07 a.m. PST

Once. I will see it again when it comes on DVD.

I have bought a First Order Transporter and the DK Visual Dictionary. I think a gaming project is coming soon.

skipper John31 Dec 2015 11:17 a.m. PST

Once and I'm wishing it was less. I thought it stunk. That was STUNK! Come on… it was a remake of the first one, battle star and all. Even an alien band. Only difference; the main stars had aged 40 years and it showed!

Personal logo miniMo Supporting Member of TMP31 Dec 2015 11:35 a.m. PST

Twice so far, once in 2D, once in giant Imax 3D. Next viewing in 2D coming soon. I like it, this is vinyl! ^,^

For decent SW games, I've been enjoying X-WIng for several years, and Armada now too.

warwell31 Dec 2015 11:50 a.m. PST

One and done

CorpCommander31 Dec 2015 11:54 a.m. PST

Once.

I found it interesting. Too little dialog and drama. Too little explained. Who was Max Von Sydow's character? I liked seeing Harrison Ford in the role again though. I think the age shaming of Carrie Fisher is disgusting. The Death Planet was just dumb. Oh look it has a city sized flaw on it! Just shoot there!

They could have taken that whole plot line out of it and it would have been a tighter and more engrossing personal film.

I enjoyed it, though, and I'll see it again.

Mr Elmo31 Dec 2015 11:55 a.m. PST

Once

The Elmo family will also be on a Disney Cruise that has a "Star Wars Day at Sea" and the movie is playing on the ships so I think I'll see it at least one more time.

David Manley31 Dec 2015 12:03 p.m. PST

Twice, with one child the first time, other child the second. I picked up a few bits I missed the first time around.

TMPWargamerabbit31 Dec 2015 12:09 p.m. PST

Nope.

Maybe when all the hub hub is done.

Personal logo Herkybird Supporting Member of TMP31 Dec 2015 12:19 p.m. PST

Once, I will get the DVD when its out though.

I do suspect it will age well, and will explain some of the apparent plot holes in the subsequent episodes.

Having had so many comments on the obvious plot holes, I would not be in the least surprised to see a 'Directors cut' with some of them corrected!

Glengarry531 Dec 2015 12:33 p.m. PST

I have no plans to see it.

Dynaman878931 Dec 2015 12:39 p.m. PST

Once, going again on Sunday and will be buying on disk to watch on the 70" tv screen at home.

Once so far, but I will see it at least twice more in the theaters. I loved it, no apologies!

boy wundyr x31 Dec 2015 1:28 p.m. PST

Once, but I'll see it 1-2 times more in theatres. I liked it a lot. I presume everyone complaining about the plot similarities to episode 4 gave up on James Bond movies in 1965 too.

Lucius31 Dec 2015 1:29 p.m. PST

Once. I liked it.

And I liked the fact that my teenage daughters(who are the same age as I was when the original one came out), were as enthralled with it as I was, back in 1977.

leidang31 Dec 2015 1:30 p.m. PST
