Is there more background online somewhere, hopefully official, for ONESS (From Iron Cow, the ORGANISATION OF NORTH EUROPEAN SOVEREIGN STATES)? Do they have a flag or insignia? Are there stats for the ONESS Brits? Is there a list of which states belong to ONESS? |

Contact Steve Blease. IIRC, he's the author of the rules, and has done a lot of stuff on backgrounds too, I think. |

I'm guessing that it's the British Republic, a state which is a member of ONESS… |

excuse me, the English Republic… which I'm guessing must no longer be a KINGDOM… ONESS Brit stats here: link But if it's the English Republic, why are they described as the ONESS British? I assume Wales is independent; what is the status of Scotland? |

I think Steve has supplied some solid information through the Wessex Games site, but here's my tuppence worth - If Britain is once gain a republic, then why not adopt unit names along the lines of the New Model Army of Cromwell? Regiment s named for commanders or the sare they are based in, and grouped as to the geographic zone they operate in. You could have the Brigadier Xian's Regiment, a division of the Cumberland Army for example. |

"or the sare they are based in" What? I meant the *areas* they are based in, like towns or counties. Given also the control exerted by corporations in this future, some regiments might be jannisaries for their companies as well as the country, so would have names that reflected that. Though even if England is still called England, I don't see the English referring to themselves as "Engs", much as Germans don't call themselves "Des" after the IRL designation :) |

Here's an interesting article from the BBC showing the possible cultural and political reasons for a North European split from the EU - link |
