hello all and merry Xmas. I have a question for my fellow knowledgeable tmpers for Xmas I had the zombiu game and it got me thinking about the queens guard do you know of any figures that could represent the queens guard both as zombies and as armed survivors of the guard.I was thinking how cool it would be to have some armed redcoats fighting the zombie hordes.any help would be appreciated. |

Which queen are we talking about? Queen Victoria, Queen Elisabeth or some other Queen? These figures from Perry come to my mind: link |

hi grief bringer sorry 1 am looking for grenadier guards in the time of queen Elizabeth 2.I am looking to do a zombie epidemic in London ( aka zombiu) so am looking for armed queens guards as there are dressed rather old fashioned i am thinking Victorian ? |

While their dress might be old-fashioned, they are armed with modern small arms (L85 assault rifle with bayonet seems to appear in pictures I checked). So if you are planning on using Victorian figures, you might need to do some conversions to give them modern small arms, and maybe also those Beefeater hats (no mere zombie epidemic is likely to make Queen's Guardsmen to give up their headgear). |

Bearskins, not Beefeater hats (totally different headwear). I'm not aware of anyone making modern Guardsmen in ceremonial uniform, in combat poses. There are a couple of options for the Victorian-era ( link link ), but as mentioned, the weapons and equipment will be anachronistic. Scarlet and Gold ( link ) make modern Guardsmen, but the poses are limited, and not particularly animated. |

Bearskins, not Beefeater hats (totally different headwear). Ooops, my bad. Different organisation, different hats. Though I am quite sure that in the case of a sudden zombie infestation, the Beefeaters would be well capable of putting out a good fight with their polearms – probably more effective anti-zombie weapon in close combat than L85 with bayonet. |

hello guys I have an idea what about purchasing modern L85 assault rifle with bayonet from assault Group And using WARGAMES FACTORY Zulu War brits and the apocalypse sets of men and women.what you think ? |

Wargames Factory British infantry seems to have separate hats, so you could easily add them headgear of your choice if you can find someone that sells bearskin hats (or are able to sculpt them yourself). Warlord Games also makes plastic Brits for the Zulu War, though the kneeling poses might not be ideal for zombie gaming: link |

These are a bit small for proper bearskins (real ones are HUGE), but are the only ones I could find: link |

The arrangement of buttons on the tunics differs for each of the five guard regiments; you may need to trim off evenly spaced buttons and paint on other arrangements, if you want to do a regiment other than the Grenadier Guards (Coldstream, Scots, Irish or Welsh Guards). All wear the bearskin hat. Grelber |

Good point. The bearskin plume color & location differs as well, but is easily handled by an appropriate dash of paint. The other major difference between a guard & line infantry tunic is the cuffs & turnbacks. If going for that level of detail, the sculpted looping should be filed off and appropriate cuffs added with paint. The guards don't wear load bearing equipment on ceremonial duty, only a belt & bayonet frog. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done with the leather equipment sculpted onto Zulu War figures. You may want to paint it in OD/khaki/camo, to represent modern webbing quickly thrown over the ceremonial uniform. Whatever you end up doing, please post pictures! |
