Having acquired four LCVP's and two LCM's from Mrs. Santa this week, I'm looking for suitable figures to load up in them as they are the Airfix models, not the Pegasus ones which do come with at least a half load of basic troops.

In the past I've used cheap knock off figures from the Dollar Store with great success, but now supplies have dried up, so any idea where I can find 200 or so US figures in fairly static marching, standing or advancing poses?

You mention Airfix so I'm guessing you are looking for 1/72 or 20mm figures, roughly?

Yep,regular 1/72 (not "heroic" LOL) or 1/76 that I can stick close together on a base to mark the boat as loaded

Pegasus D-Day Rangers are very nice. Also the Airfix USMC are very good too.

Yes, I have the Rangers but I'm looking for fairly static poses to stand in the boat. The Airfix set has just four guys waking with carbines and three running riflemen that I could use. Shooting, prone throwing grenades and leaping majestically in the air look silly in a boat offshore :)

I think that the 'passenger' block in the waterline Buffalo ( bottom of the list) are seperate-might be able to order seperate if you ask……..

Roco used to make strips of seated and standing figures to cut in their vehicles.

Who makes Rocco stuff now?

Gaz: I did email them and got a nice response from Tim: yes, he will sell the passenger units separately and a good price too – thanks!

I think you can still get Rocco stuff on line, but it's a tad expensive for half a dozen figures at a time when you need a large amount

Tim's a good bloke! I had seen someone else use them before….
Happy to have helped!

Frontline wargaming supplies some of their Buffalo vehicles with passengers.
