My SAGA Moors project continues to progress (update from San Antonio): I'm almost done with my 8 figure unit of mounted Hearthguard w/javelins and 10 figure unit of foot warriors. I am working another 10 foot and almost done with them. The backdrop is a project of basing the ruins of Middle Earth. On the paint stand are another 32 foot warriors, and maybe some more mounted…..
Join the San Antonio SAGA gaming group on 23 January at Dragon's Lair for our first SAGA tournament. We will also provide learn to play and introduce you to this exciting and fun Medieval skrimish game!

Very very nice! I'm working on Moors as well, but since I am playing DBA instead of SAGA, I am trying to stick with old school figures so that they will fit comfortably on the base sizes that were established in the heyday of true 25mm wargaming. That means I am making do with Ral Partha and Citadel figures from the 80's and missing out on the explosion of new Moorish figures that are now on offer. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the nostalgia of using the older figures, but I do get envious when I see new figures beautifully painted! |

I never thought I would adopt plastics, but I have. It started with GW Lord of the Rings and now many of my projects (SAGA, Bolt Action, and even Napoleonics) are adding plastic figures. Post some pictures of your Moor project, I will continue to update TMP with my army progress. Cheers |

Here you go: The Black Guard command
The Black Guard are primarily made from figures in the Ral Partha Renaissance line (on the wings of the front rank). The command stand are Citadel figures -spearman and fanatic swordsmen converted to standard bearers.
The Moors of Ben Yusef.
And lastely the archers.
I'm working on some of the light horse elements right now, including Ben Yusef himself. I've been doing some Bolt Action and LotR as well and the plastic figures tend to be pretty great. David |

Looking good there Char! I'm about to start some El-Cid Spanish foot myself, now that would make for a good game of Saga! |

Bowstrings? Yes, both of you are creating an army that will be fun to game with and against. Seeing beautifully painted, composed and based miniatures make a game more enjoyable, even if they are dismembering my miniatures. |
