I believe it was Ramree island and is unfortunately /fortunately believed to have debunked as a urban myth. But many strange things happen in war. if you google" Ramree island crocodiles" |

I seem to recall that in one Pacific island battle the Japanese had to cross a river inhabited by piranhas. Not sure at all if that is true, or that piranhas even exist in the Pacific. |
