I started building my Moor army for SAGA. I am using the Gripping Beast plastic models. I picked up a box of: Arab Infantry, Arab heavy cavalry, and a box of Arab light cavalry.

I'm using parts from all three boxes to build a very diverse force – each figure a little different than the others. I am building the mounted troops as Hearthguard w/javelins. The infantry will be warriors, built for melee.

In the end I plan to have an 8 point army: 1xWarlord, 12xHearthguard mounted w/javelin, 5x8xWarriors.

I have the same sitting on my workbench to bet painted…thanks for the inspiration.

At the risk of getting repetitive, I've got the exact same figures on the go for the exact same army, with the addition of a metal Gripping Beast Warlord casting. Although I do admit that the army is going to see double use as not just a Saga army, but also a Lion Rampant army.

I've been looking at the new Saxon miniatures Moors. I have enough Musketeer miniatures mounted Arabs and the fancy Gripping beast mounted personality figure for my little army, definitely a army worth raising.
