Been away from miniature gaming for a few years. Last rule set I used was Spearhead and Modern Spearhead. I don't see much action with those rules lately. What are folks using for microarmor battles these days? Any and all advice on the subject is appreciated. Scoutsout |

I think spearhead (both) are still played. Also crossfire, flames of war are strong contenders. |

Flames of war, Blitzkrieg commander II, Fistful of Tows are all popular rulesets. I personally use Jagdpanzer II. |

I use Battlefront WWII, or Crossfire for my 6mm games. |

All sets I have heard of and used! Good to know. Anyone use 5core? I see that a little. |

I have used the Battlegroup series, keeping the 20mm ranges etc, on me 12 x 6 table it works well, link Tally Ho! |

For WWII, Command Decision and Rapid Fire Moderns: Challenger for 1 – 1 and Spearhead for larger action |

I've used 5Core Brigade Commander. A bit of abstration to it, but quick to pick up and plays fast…what I need in my old age. |

Toofatlardies' I Aint Been shot Mum is my choice. The ground scale works out to 1/300 and the rules are focused on historical tactics and friction. Best set of rules for WWII Armor and infantry combat I've found yet. Mark |

I think Spearhead is the gold standard, with FFT3 on the side. My own 5core Brigade Commander runs well in 3mm and 6mm. Each stand is a company, with a brigade on the table. Heavily abstracted, but runs in about an hour and a half. There'll be a cold war version of Laserstorm too, but I need to do a few other bits first. |

Mein Panzer. You can add elements as you become more familiar with system. |

FFT seems to be one of the top choices for larger games. |

You can put a ridiculous number of toys on an FFT table. |

Also honorary vote for those old WRG games. With the ranges given, you pretty much want 6mm to work out, but they play surprisingly well. Infantry will end up crawling across the table though. |

Spearhead, Modern Spearhead, and the WW1 variant are all alive and well. Apart from the active Yahoo Group, there is Keith's site: link And his great scenario generator: link Which Robin has adapted for WW1: link Robin has several examples of SH and MSH on his blog as well (check out the labels section on the bottom right of the page): wargamingnz.blogspot.co.uk Lots of stuff on Great War Spearhead. See here for example, especially the Battle Reports section: greatwarspearhead.com Robert |

Spearhead and Modern Spearhead have a good following here. In my opinion they produce interesting battles with plenty of challenges. In addition to the blogs above you may find the following Modern site of interest. modernspearhead.wordpress.com |

As above Spearhead in all eras is still alive and kicking, otherwise the usual one platoon equal one base rules. Not much innovation recently, newest kid on the block is 5core brigade commander, which is well worth a look. |

For WW2 at a Divisional level then Krieg ohne Hass are available on ebay. They have a free Cold War supplement that gears troop levels down one cog to Brigade sized actions available on both the 2mm and 6mm yahoo groups. |

Hey Scoutsout, This old 19D recommends Blitzkrieg Commander II. It has a good following of players and is fast and fun to play. Perfect for micro-armor. Scales can be variable from 1=1 to 1=platoon and even 1=company. Here in Southwest Oregon, our group plays 1=platoon 1941-1942 North Afrika and we have a blast. Good luck with your search and remember, If you ain't Cav, you ain't….! |

Mein Panzer was originally designed for 6mm and works very well. It is very comprehensive using one model = one vehicle and one infantry stand=one squad. You can get more info at ODGW.com. |
