Having read "the Chouans" and "Colonel Chabert" (and having seen the movie), I was surprised to find two books of Balzac's collected stories called "Tales of the Napoleonic Era" in volumes one and two. I enjoyed his prose and his stories are written like one who lived through the Napoleonic Wars. link link |
