I have just spent the afternoon clearing out the man cave in the back garden, and was about to take three sets of horizontal wooden venetian blinds to the tip as we have had them through two house moves over the last 8 years and had finally given up on them as they haven't fitted any window since, then loading them into the back of the land rover, a eurek ! Moment.

They are 2-3mm thick and vary between 30mm and 50 mm wide. And are 200cm long. Back into the shed with them. And a smug grin.

Now I'm scheming all sorts of projects too, forts, castles bridges?

Sorry if I've bored you, I just had to tell someone 😨

Some blinds are made from lengths of thin circular dowelling type wood – bought one and have been using it for years.

My wife is also now in the habit of asking me if I can use something before it gets binned.
