Obviously the sculptor does not know anything about Japanese archery and next to nothing about archery in general. For starters, wrong draw (grip) on the arrow for just about anywhere east of Constantinople and the arrow is on the wrong side for the type of draw shown. The quiver is a bizarre concoction, vaguely American Indian and the bow is also very odd. |

Yep, wrong type of bow, not Japanese at all Wrong armour It's fantasy – so you can get away with anything :) I have some of their Oni which I really like, but I don't think the rest of the minis are worth the price John |

How do these size up with GCT Bushido and other more standard companies like Perry? |

These are GCT Bushido. Compared with Perry I'd say they are bigger overall but the scale is not completely consistent and I have some the same size as Perry to some being a head taller. Oni is my main army so I don't have a huge variety of human to compare with. |

Sorry my mistake…I meant how do they compare to Kensei. |

Kensei minis are very tall, ~36mm or 1/48 scale. Despite the other flaws with the archer, the arrow IS on the correct side of the bow for a Japanese archer. Kyujutsu holds the arrow on the thumb side, not cross-feeding it like Western archers do. It's a bit faster to shoot that way, since you can pull an arrow out of the quiver and slap it against the side of the bow, as opposed to threading the arrow between the bow and string. |

The arrow is on the wrong side because of the two-finger grip. If the arrow is shot from this side of the bow, it should be a thumb-draw. |

Swordsman isn't gripping katana correctly. Supporting hand is always supposed to grip base of sword. It bugs me when sculptors don't know what they're doing and makes basic mistakes. |
