My Lords, And Gentlemen!
The (Virtual) Armchair General has begun a series of 54mm/1:32 card stock models of Tudor Era buildings that are intended for use with war games in that scale in from that time forward--and certainly the English Civil War.
This is an example of one of the five model designs already completed, including a Public House/Tavern, and three general dwellings of different sizes. Five more are planned, including a walled manor house, as well as a bridge, well, outbuildings, and other items with which a fairly large village can be represented down to just a few hovels.
These will be offered as PDF's for self assembly in the same general way as TVAG's many other card models, delivered for free by E-mail, and will cost no more than $10.00 USD each, some for as little as $5.00 USD.
Obviously, far, far less expensive than any other material in this scale, very simple to build, and if using easily acquired foam board for bracing, can be counted on to last indefinitely for your gaming or display needs. Weighing next to nothing, transport is hardly an issue beyond the space to carry them to games and events.
So, what's the deal?
I have so many other projects requiring my time just now that I have not been able to test assemble all of these yet to be sure that the designs are "true" and ready to offer for sale with confidence that buyers will have no problems.
Therefore, I am inviting any one or more of you to take one of the remaining four models now in hand and build it as per the design. If you find any problems, report them so I can fix them, send the fixes to you for rebuilding as needed, and when the building is "right," send me usable photos for use on the new "Round Head Real Estate" Page at TVAG so future buyers can get genuine views of them.
In return, the builder gets to keep the perfected PDF of the building(s) he proofs for his own use. Your only costs are the materials (cheap) and your time--which only you can put a price on.
I will need the first four models done before the end of January, and the remaining five or so as quickly as I can crank them out.
I very much encourage all interested parties to contact me at TVAG@att.net ASAP.
Thanks for your consideration, and even if this isn't for you, please pass this along to your friends here or across The Pond who might be interested themselves!
