I have the Foundry ED range and was wanting to add their Swiss Characters. Would they fit in scale wise, I think the Swiss came out years before the Dorado figures. |

If I recall correctly, th Swiss are a bit smaller. Ok to mix as units, but I wouldn't!t put them in the same unit. |

Rich is indeed correct, The Swiss are closer to 25mm, while the ED are 28mm. |

Actually, height-wise the difference is not huge – when measured from the soles of the feet to the eye level, El Dorado figures are maybe one mm taller. The main difference is in the bulk – those ED figures are sculpted in a much bulkier style than the Swiss. Also, the Swiss command blister has one figure (standard bearer with helmet) that has been sculpted clearly in a different style to the rest of the range, and this figure would go much better with the ED range: link |

I would like to add that historically speaking, the Swiss (being intended for the late 15th century) might look slightly old-fashioned next to the El Dorado conquistadors in their more modern attire. Though I must admit that those hidalgos are not very heavy on the puff-and-slash attire of the 16th century – though they tend to wear a number of distinctively 16th century looking pants. Speaking of the subject, I have an order from Foundry that should contain both Swiss Characters and El Dorado Audacious Arquebusiers – though I am not planning on fielding them side by side. I am hoping that the package is not buried too deep in the Christmas mail pile in the post office… |

All I was interested in was the mounted commander from the character pack |

Well, if you are going to just use that mounted commander, then the difference in bulk might be less noticeable. I will comment more once I get mine (hopefully next week). |

I got mine at last from Foundry, need to check later on how the commander looks next to the conquistadors. |
