Hello again, all!

Here's a few pics of the Wahaika class subfighter which some may recall from my last topic about my Stingray: The Next Generation game (see link below)

picture

It's tough to see in these pics, but the 'black' topsides are actually a very, very dark blue, mixed from Tamiya Rubber Black and Sea Blue. Panel lines were achieved the same way as on the Stingray Mk V's – Tamiya masking tape and modelling pigments.

The only problem is with the 'headlight' at the bow – you can just see it in this shot – as it doesn't really stand out like that of the Stingrays. I think I need to add a diffuser panel from transparent acrylic.

But, I'm quite happy with the result. Five more of these to go.

The only hassle is the size of these things; at 1/144th, they make for pretty big models – about 150mm for the Wahaika's, and 180mm for the Stingrays. It does make me wonder about sculpting them at 1/285…

Next time – some more decal tests, and the first test-build for a Terrorfish!

Super nice indeed… you have a great mind sir… After watching seaquest, I always wanted a sub dogfight game…Like the end battle in the first GI Joe film.

Wow, I didn't know how you'd top the Stingrays, but I think you just managed to!
