Happy holidays to you all first off. Now I am a big fan of their 10mm fantasy line and have sent many emails asking if the line is going to expand? (Such as elves, swan knights, golem figure and cross-bow armed half-orcs) All of my emails have fallen on deaf ears for not one reply has been sent. Any one here have an inside line to the company and can let me know what the future holds for this line?

Though I can't say for sure, I'd guess there are no plans to extend the range any time soon. Fans have been clamouring for more releases for years now and have had experiences similar to your own.

One actually doesn't hear much of Mr. Copplestone these days (unless I'm missing something?); maybe he isn't that active anymore.

I've read that he is sculpting some of the miniatures for Frostgrave at the moment.

Yes I would like to see him expand the 15 mm Fantasy range. At one time there was a rumor he was going to do a fantasy Roman force to go with the dwarf and barbarian forces. Of course it begs the question which rule system to use for these wonderful 15 mm figures? Here is hoping he will get back to it at some point.

I bought some Wizards and Apprentices from him the other day, so definitely still active, and probably involved in Frostgrave.

It is a wierd one. There is a lot of love for both the 10mm and 15mm ranges. But neither seem to be going anywhere.
I used to wonder if Copplestone was ill or something but now I think he just loses interest after the initial flush of enthusiasm. After all he is a gamer.
All we can do is keep the faith. Keep buying the figures and talking about them.

majormike6920 Dec 2015 2:35 p.m. PST

For rules I am looking at the old faithfull HOTT.
I have also bought Songs of blades and heroes, Crom and of course Frostgrave.

TheGiantTribble20 Dec 2015 3:19 p.m. PST

I wonder how many sales he is missing out on with people waiting till some more come out or at least a vague plan of what he is hoping to release.

majormike6920 Dec 2015 3:55 p.m. PST

I thought that way and held off and held off waiting for a complete range.
Now I think we have to support the range while it is being built. I try and order some 15s every month.

"Now I think we have to support the range while it is being built."

This is nearly always the case, no matter how much we might want to see a complete range before committing.

I talked to him a couple of weeks ago. We've been friends for years. He's fine, just doing a variety of things.

His most recent stuff has been Frostgrave oriented. He's planning on doing some more gangsters for his 'Mad Dogs with Guns' line to go with a commercial release of the rules as an Osprey hardback in 2017.

Is sculpting his full-time job these days, or does he have a "real" career with miniatures being a passion/hobby/side business? I know we all sometimes forget few people can make an honest living doing this full-time.

green beanie21 Dec 2015 7:27 a.m. PST

Mexican Jack Squint, do me a favor and ask him next time you see him if the 10mm fantasy line is dead or not. It would good info to have so I can look else where for figs.

Lee Brilleaux Fezian21 Dec 2015 9:02 a.m. PST

I'll ask him.

It is his 'real job', although he's not as prolific making new things as some others are. He gets sidetracked into a lot of creative things that don't always see the light.

Gangster rules from osprey? Sounds interesting! Does mr copplestone write them?

Lee Brilleaux Fezian21 Dec 2015 9:49 p.m. PST

No, it's 'Mad Dogs with Guns', which Roderick Robertson and I wrote and published in 2012 under our small Pulp Action Library imprint. We're doing a bigger, better, shinier version with Osprey. Mark's ideas were a big part of the initial planning for the rules.
