'Just published in association with the Battlefields Trust: The Civil War in Wessex. Alan is of course a long-standing member of the Trust and in this well-illustrated little book he gives a fascinating introduction to the key events and places in the region. We'll be launching it at the Willis Museum, Basingstoke at 1.00pm on 9 Jan when Alan will be giving a talk. All welcome!'

Missed this thread when it first appeared and the book too!

I remember meeting Alan at Basing House many, many years ago. Even then he came over as very knowledgeable.

I've always had an interest in the siege of Basing House, so I think I'll have to pick this book up, thank's Armandą
