I have been wanting a jetpack for Phantom Ace for quite awhile, so I finally decided to make my own…

Here's a simple flying stand and jetpack I designed and 3d printed ---

Finally, Ace takes to the air with his brand new jetpack! ---

The 1/8" acrylic rod can be swapped out for different heights – but 16" seems to be his ceiling at the moment ---

Best Christmas gift ever! The smile on the ol' boy's face says it all --- :D

More to come….

Well, if anyone deserves a jetpack, it's Phantom Ace. But now I'm feeling so retro for making things by hand.

That's clever Dave :)

Very nice! Is it allowed for Phantom Ace to say "Up, up and away!"? Or "To infinity and beyond!"?

"Aces high!" or "Ace's high!"

Have you considered the "Corsec Engineering" omni-stand with the telescoping rod?

"Up and at them!"
Would you model a bit of smoke and flame to cover the joint between the rod and the rocketpack?

THANKS guys, I'm glad you like it. It made us start thinking about doing some variant miniatures for some of our characters. What do you think?

@ tberry -- Those cor-sec stand look nice, but I tend to like making this kind of stuff myself. :D

@ deflatermouse -- Personally, I don't find the idea of adding smoke/flame too appealing. I got way too many projects going at the moment, and some stuff is not worth the extra fuss. AND – I'm happy with the way it looks.

More to come!

Yeah, that looks like an awesome and versatile kit.

Sorry, I forgot to say it looks excellent.
I'd like some to make some US Jumptroopers.

That's a great idea for jump troops……anyone have any reccs for pivoting a mini on a flight stand….I'm thinking magnets and a all bearing or BB?

Twoball: Check out the Corsec link I posted above.

If using the telescoping rods one come with a pivoting head.

If using a fixed length rod the have a spherical head you use with a magnetic attached to the model. Follow the link:
