A few pics from some little test games I have doing to try some scenarios out and the new terrain.

Couple of pics from a Battlegroup Overlord scenario I'm testing…

Its one of several for a short campaign set during the Rückmarsch after Normandy. Here British troops enter a French town and are engaged by enemy sniper fire and units of a mobile flak company thrown out as a hasty rearguard…

The town doing its best to look like Warsaw…

Most of Piers' troops and vehicles are 20mm, I think. Although they are painted so well they look like 28mm!!

nazrat15 Dec 2015 11:09 a.m. PST

The buildings are from Wikkywok on eBay, and everything is 20mm. The figures are from a variety of manufacturers but I'll let Piers say what's there since I can only identify Elheim and a few AB for sure.

Knowing those are 20mm makes me even more impressed. I thought that was gorgeous 28mm work!

And the worst thing about it is that he is too nice to hate.

Lovely work as always Piers really like the early war stuff.

Cheers chaps… Buildings are custom made by my chum Russell who does sell on Ebay. Great guy to deal with.

Figures are from lots of 20mm companies!

Gorgeous as always.

Awesome as always Piers, I have bought a few resin Airfix buildings, but as I'm not a terrain guy, I have been stalling on doing them, I hope they turn out even half as good as yours, when I get the balls to attempt them.

Interesting use of what looks like loose scatter-able bricks. What are those made from and are they loose I wonder? My first thought was aquarium ballast if that makes sense.

Nice job mate.

How did you do the burnt out tank? Looks pretty neat.

From other posts he has made-- it is dyed kitty litter. I have done the same but used spray paint on it since Piers never got around to a tutorial (hint hint!). Stinks a bit for a while but the paint smell eventually wears off.

Thanks Nazrat, that's something to consider doing.

PiersBrand16 Dec 2015 2:38 a.m. PST

Yer… Its dyed cat litter.

Dyed with acrylic paint. Easy to do and very effective.

Unless you have a cat… Who may then take a dump on your rubble.

Very nice indeed. Super scenery and great photography. Good camera angles getting in on the action.
