…and probably ruining a few kids dreams in the process. I can't afford fancy imported 1:55 die casts. Cars cars go for 2 euro a piece here. So….
Loads more at my Blog >> link (you can ignore the personal bit about life being hell right now. God knows I'm trying to) |

Gunbird, so sorry to hear about all the troubles. Here's hoping they get sorted--or at least on the road to improvement--soon. Life can be just unbelievable sometimes… As for the cars, they look wonderfully awful, if that makes sense. Thank you for sharing the tutorial! |

Gunbird, sorry to learn of your recent misfortunes. My wife and I had a similar stream of bad luck a couple of years ago -- she and my daughter were in an accident and my wife's mother died around the same time; and to make matters worse my boss at the time would not let me off to attend her funeral. Like you, I also had to take care of the two kids after work while my wife was recovering. What you are doing right now is one of the best forms of therapy. Not only will help distract you from the trials that you are undergoing at this time, you are also putting together some really lovely works. Just remember to be patient with the kids at this time. All these troubles will pass -- and when they do, you will still have some really cool miniatures that you have put together in the meantime. My thought are with you, Kevin |

Thx guys, life hasn't been grand lately but painting models is great therapy. Up to a point, as my kids come first. Zargon: I will try to do a tutorial soon, but it really isn't more then 3 steps I think to get to that stage. Surdu: Just googled newspaper, selected a lot of JPEG's, scaled them down to size and asked a friend with a laserprinter to print me off a few sheets. Cut them out, weathered them with fine sandpaper and coffee for aging the paper and that was it. |

Here was my one and only effort along those lines. It was fun, but since I dropped 28mm, I probably won't do more anytime soon.

Lord, Gunbird, puts my troubles in perspective. Best wishes to you and yours, may fortune and happiness return to your door with improper haste. If we're going to play a little show and tell, here's something I made for 28mm recently… from this…
to this!
