Jagers have their regiment number in brass on their leather ammo boxes, but my free-hand is so awful, 49 quickly turns into the Chinese characters for, "Please stop doing this--now!" (This is for 28mm Perry figures).

Anybody know of any transfers that would serve? Here's an example of ideal:

Size and print your own on decal paper?

Hard part might be finding a good font or scan to use. But it is a good point that there does seem to be a small market for ammo box numbers and insignia and saddle cloth designs for the different armies. 15mm might be asking a bit much but 28mm should be doable.

I just chose the 11th eger regiment- simples!

Anything less than 28's just put a few dots, at 5' I'd wouldn't notice.

I like to use metallic pens from art stores. They are only a couple of bucks each (less if you have a coupon)and have a fine tip. They are usually used for calligraphy.
Great for musket barrels and bands, buttons, shako plates, anything metal. Gold looks like a shinny brass, but a quick brown wash can tone it down.

Metallic pens – good call!

Yeah, I'm going to give that a shot. Thanks, All!
