OK, so the tech guys told me the first crash – which took place during a Windows 10 update – was a hard drive failure, so they replaced my hard drive. Now, the laptop with the new hard drive has crashed again – while in sleep mode (during a Windows 10 update, perhaps?) – with the same error (can't access device, error #1). Interesting… |

Wow, that sucks! Very sorry to hear that. I've heard troubling things about Windows 10. |

Sorry to hear it! Will be interesting to hear what the tech guys say – perhaps your original drive still works |

I have had problems with Windows 10 not loading, messing up my passwords (that stopped after 3 weeks) and incompatibility with devices and some software. Apart from that, its ok…for a Beta program! |

I've learned from experience to NEVER change to a new operating system for at least 2 years after it comes out for this very reason. Research it on-line….right now there are lots more negative comments than positive ones about it. |

Have no idea why anyone would be upgrading to Windows 10 just yet. Give it at least a few months for MS to sort out the normal chaos. Nothing desperately wrong with Windows 7 that would force an upgrade so early into the life of yet another flaky OS from MS. Thats if you plan to stick with MS for your OS at all. I think MS produce quite good Applications Software but their Systems Software routinely sucks. |

Agree with nsolomon99 but the present marketing campaign of incessant free upgrade popups is hard for many people to ignore. Also if stuck with Windows 8, it's easy to see any change as a possible improvement. |

Yeah, agree, if you've got Windows 8 then even a broken Windows 10 is possibly a better option. Amazing! |

Windows 10 is a machination of Satan !!!!! That is why it's FREE !!!! My Techies in India, I call'm Raj & Pria, Sometimes I was calling them every other day ! I tried using MSN Tech support when I first got Win10, was told it would be an 1 & 1/2 wait ! Then when they called me back, after frakk'n around with it for about an hour. They said they'd call me back in 48hrs. And had to make an appointment !! And Note … my Lap Top is a new HP, and Win10 was a free install about a week after I got in July. I pay about $150 USD a year for Avast Tech support and with Win10. It's worth every penny ! I talk to them more then my friends ! A few weeks ago. 5 different AVAST Techs took about 9 hours to get my Win10 working. Then they said they called me back the next to get my Weather, Money and Photo Apps working. Took only 5 hours. But now if anything goes wrong, they get my PC back in working order in a 1/2 an hour or hour at most. So we'll see how long this "fix" stays. They run all kinds of malware, virus checks, but it always comes down to its not your PC … it's Windows 10. Thank the Gods for Avast. I get my $$$ worth. The last time I got a nice gent named Luis … he was Hispanic and we had a nice conversation while he worked his "magic" … I kept expecting his to say something like Pacino in "Scarface", "Say Hello to my Little Friend". As he work a minor miracle IMO, getting everything working in about 45 mins ! Here's to you Luis and all the Techs at Avast ! And the MSN can !
