Try Armourfast. They're easy to build and don't have the issues that more fiddly kits have.

Yes, Armourfast.

If you're prepared to wait I expect First to Fight will do one in the future

Milicast, as ever, do a beautiful one- at a price

Andy ONeill12 Dec 2015 12:18 p.m. PST

Armourfast are a bit weak on detail but cheap n cheerful.
Mms do one which is the right sizebut very slightly too long rear deck. Milicast is a little bit small but otherwise nice.
Mine are cromwell, I think. Lot of complaints about him. I bought off a dealer way back when they'd work with him.

Faa do one. When it was owned over here the guy started doing the vehicles just a while before he sold up. I liked em.
Anyone got pictures?

The Armourfast PzIVD looks very nice. Here's another one: who makes a StuG III A, B or C?

Andy ONeill12 Dec 2015 2:22 p.m. PST

Did many stug3a see action?

Milicast do early stugs, I heard the nose shape is a bit dodgy. Not seen them to check either way.

mms do Several different marks.
S&s do a resin conversion kit.

Thirty StuG III A's took part in the Battle for France (24 Heer and 6 SS) and they impressed the heck out of the German commanders. Outnumbered by the 2,500 or so Panzers, sure, but considering that the vast majority of those were PzI and PzII's, the StuG's were certainly an useful source of heavy firepower on the battlefield (and they were organized into Sturmartillerie Batteries for just that purpose).

The difference in the two ranges are that the Battlefield Range has FAR fewer parts. Most are cast on with no loss of detail.

Ok, here's another request: who makes an Antonov A-40 in 1/72?

Just kidding… No one wants an Antonov A-40 in 1/72.

It's a pity revell don't do an early pz4. Their late ones are superb.
My inclination would be to mash up revell and armorfast if i going plastic. Mms would be easy though.

I don't know how the airix and milicast compare size wise, I'm afraid.
Both 1/76 though.

I got my early STUG's from Fujimi. Not sure which model, but the short 75mm. The Fujimis have separate hatch covers, so I took all the crew figs and put their heads sticking out the hatches on the command STG.

I use armourfast. Very happy with them. Detail is nice but sometimes sacrificed to get them on the board. I have revell panzer lll and the treads took a while but worth the hassle in the end. For specific models that I don't need that any of I usually buy die cast. You can get the ugly ones cheap because no one wants them and just paint them.

I use the Armourfast ones with some add on tools from Sgt's Mess. The running gear looks OK if you slap a load of "mud" over and behind the road wheels
