This is the prequel to the Bemis heights scenario and is the AWI scenario included in the Black Powder Main rule book.

This was the first AWI BP scenario our group played and eventually built our armies around which is why we have since done Bemis Heights and will go back and run the other two northern campaign scenarios.

We have had a ton of fun learning the rules and have run this scenario about 4-5 times. Each time has resulted in a American victory, but a lot of back and forth getting there.

Most recently I ran Freeman's Farm at the What Khan in Rockford, IL at the end of October. We had seven new players show up and it was great fun teaching them.

The pics below are of that game. Ultimately it ended in a draw as we ran out of time which is odd for this scenario as all our other games were decided in under 3 hours. I attribute this to newer players being a bit more timid to give their opponent the bayonet. Additionally due to a fortunate blunder the British were able to move across the field very quickly early on and severely limited the American deployment options which resulted in American forces being bottled up and limited maneuver.

I know Black Powder is not for everyone, but we have really enjoyed it especially for the AWI period.

Do you have a blog where I might read a write-up? I'm interested in gaming it too and would like to know your terrain and forces considerations.

I do have a blog.

Unfortunately it is not up to date with all the stuff I have been doing in the past years as pictures were a pain to figure out. I think I have that fixed now and will post some updates in the coming weeks.

Basically the AWI scenarios we have been enjoying are straight out of the Black Powder main rule book and Rebellion supplement.
