Will there be another update before Christmas ? Well maybe, but for now settle down for a winter's evening of reading as The Solo Wargamers Association presents yet more from the Lone Warrior blog !

The new article for December, taken from Issue 180 of Lone Warrior magazine, is Bugles Boots and Saddles by Graham Empson PDF link and is a 7th cavalry game – rules, scenario, and play example report! Mighty fine stuff Mr Empson !

Sort of connected is Jonathan Aird's full review of Osprey Weapon 42 Winchester rifle PDF link , useful and inspiring!

Rob Morgan discusses some little know cold war nuclear weapons : giaranteed to make your tabletop glow! link

Paul Le Long reviews MAA 474 The Chaco War – PDF link – and finds it perfect for those looking for a less well known inter-war conflict.

Jonathan Aird submits a full review of MAA 503 PDF link Hitler's Russian & Cossack Allies 1941-45 which offers some full and well researched background to these unusual troops. And if that starts you thinking of snow well Rob Morgan has the very seasonal Napoleonics on Skis as a though for gaming : link

And finally Paul Le Long reviews Osprey Fortress 37 PDF link D-Day Fortifications in Normandy – something for your now well trained troops (see the earlier reviews of infantry tactics Ospreys!) to try their skill against.

Hope you enjoy some or all of it !

Thanks for sharing.

Blue Peacock, from the Cold War certainly could liven things up a bit, I suspect.
