I have alas the first edition that had numerous mistakes in the maps. I am told that these were corrected but not studied the 2nd edition. Stephen |

Is there a consolidated list of errors/'errors' anywhere? |

I do not know of any. These were errors in the maps, names and units. There were numerous for the Spanish. Also lacking spot heights meant it was difficult to know whether it was a valley or a hill. Blue for French and black for Spanish was not a good choice. The Robertson Atlas of the Peninsular war though smaller is certainly better in the quality and accuracy of the maps. Stephen |

In the book description at Amazon it does state this is a revised edition (2014). The Napoleonic section of my library is quite lean in comparison to my ancient and was pleased with this offer as it came at the right time. |

Me too. It's really annoying, as I bought the first edition and put it away until I start my Peninsular War project. I could have just waited and got the revised edition. I don't suppose that Osprey is going to offer replacements to those who bought the first edition in good faith. |

I too have the 1st edition , but I'd be amazed if Osprey would feel any obligation "Ya pays yer money and takes yer chances". In the book description at US Amazon it does state this is a revised edition (2014) at $50.99 USD. Having had any faith that it has, indeed, been conscientiously revised I was nearly ready to spring for the 2014 edition. However there are now two "2-star" reviews which (perhaps predictably give the nature of the internet) do cast some question on the editing of even this revised version: link Does anyone know about the accuracy of this criticism? That being the near impossibility of distinguishing between the colours used for Spanish and French units? TIA for comments |

It is very difficult to distinguish the black from the dark blue even in good light. If a medium blue had been used. Stephen |

Summerfield It is very difficult to distinguish the black from the dark blue even in good light. If a medium blue had been used. Stephen Yup! That's its main problem. Perhaps if the book is used every time for detailed study, then the problem could just (but only just) be about put up with, but it definately is not conducive of an 'at a glance' peruse. Paul :) |
