Does anyone know if background information and rough army lists are available for AWOTMF aside from the rulebook? I like the setting and want to use it for my own VSF games but with different rules, so I'd rather not buy the book. There is some stuff available from the official website but wonder if anyone has put together a decent summary anywhere? |

I think there is a book about to come out based upon the game that may have that background. |

Buy the rulebook, you won't regret it. It is jam-packed with great background information. Plus, even if you use your own rules, having the official stats will help you create unit-specific rules/stats within your own system. Scott Washburn has a novel coming out in March too. link |

Agreed, you should buy the book. Not only do you get the fluff, stats, and rules; but you are also supporting the people who invested their time and effort in making it. |

Thanks for the advice, chaps. Ivan: that's good to hear and you are swaying me towards buying it! Just to be clear, I was in no way soliciting for scans of the book or anything illegitimate! It's just there seems to be very little available on the web for this compared to other rules/settings. As it happens, I found publicly available Beta army lists on the BoardgameGeek page for the game, so they pretty much answer all my questions. |

As far as the "All Quiet on the Martian Front" game version of war of the worlds, here is a link to the official discussion group. Lots of army lists and setting details: link You should be able to read it all without a log-in. |

My blog has AQMF battle reports from the Canadian Front. All fan fiction, liberally spiced with out of context Monty Python scripts. philsmartianfront.blogspot.com |

Thanks, Phil. I have, in fact, read most of your blog already! It is rather good! :) |

Thank you. I do recommend getting the rule book. About a third of it is background info, including newspaper clips. My favorite is about "Lawrence of Arizona" Where a young British Officer has been a liaison with the Apaches in fights behind the lines. |
