Just an update for those interested in the ships I am making for this battle in 1/1200 scale. I have decided to cast them all in metal as opposed to metal masts and resin hulls . The first models will be ready next week and I will send photos to anyone interested in buying these models. I have also included "Chatas" and the Paraguayan gunboat that broke down on its way to the battle . Resin bases will also be available for those wishing to mount the ships.
I have found an good site (see link below) with staged maps of this battle and interestingly these relate the course of the action differently to that described in Warner's book. I personally find this source a little more convincing as it doesn't contradict itself as Warner's book does

Thanks for making these ships.

wargamer605 Dec 2015 10:59 a.m. PST

I will be moulding the ships tomorrow so should be able to send pictures of ships painted in primer to TMP supporting members next week . I won't be able to do this for other members as I don't have your email addresses unless I can figure out how to download pictures to TMP. If I can break even on my costs of making these models I may make some of Salvanale ships next year as well.

Having just seen the photos of these ships, I can attest to their excellent quality. I am quite impressed, given the scale. Lots of detail.

I, too, have seen the pictures. Very impressive.

Package purchased! Very much looking forward to the models!

Received my order. Just wished to confirm that the actual models look as good as the pictures, and are extremely well packed. In addition, the matching bases look great (and should be a big time-saver).

Hi Tom , it would be nice to see some of the Triple Alliance warship models painted up. I have embarked on a new civil war ships project so haven't found the time to paint my set yet.

cheers

Hope to get started in a couple weeks. I will look forward to your Civil War ships (although I would have looked forward more to War of the Pacific….).

First time visit to his board today – stumbled on this thread.
I's be very interested in getting some of your ships (they look quite lovely, by the way). How do I go about it?
Cheers
Mark
