A post covering some of the pusher aircraft models from Shapeways I recently completed. For gaming with small 1/144 biplanes models, Shapeways has really made this the 'golden age'. link

Very nice. I have a Shapeways Ilya Muromets heavy bomber which is about 40% complete… It was sometimes turned into a gun-ship, sporting 12 MG's, with a crew to match. Some German pilots who faced it, refused to fly against it again! I play Red Baron rules, and folks seem to swarm on big bombers, kind of like Piranhas. Can't wait to see them swarm on my Muromets gun-ship… I agree, Shapeways has many 1/144 WW I plane models not to be found elsewhere, for decent prices. Also picked up a German plane which had 4-MG's aimed 45-degrees down, through the rear gunner's floor, made to strafe trenches. Looking forward to flying that plucky little fighter, hoping enemy planes fly below me… Cheers, and thanks for sharing! |
