I'm doing a skirmish game in Mexico, think Wild Bunch, so I need a train and a few cars for the early 20th century. Any ideas and online retailers? Thanks, Andrew |

For 54mm figures you are looking at Gauge 1 sized trains. Something like LGB? |

I would check out some of the cheaper toy trains that are currently in stores because of it being Christmas time. They will probably need repainting and perhaps some modification to remove holiday bits, but would probably be a better buy than "real" model trains. Look in your local home improvements stores, pharmacy chains, or supermarkets as well as standbys like Walmart and Target. And it wouldn't hurt to carry a sample soldier in your pocket to compare size. |

Plastic Christmas train sets are numerous and reasonably priced. You can find them in toy stores, some drug stores, Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc. |

G ("Garden") Scale is what you want in 54mm/1:32, and can be pricy. However, also look for what are called "1/32-1/29", "Narrow:1/20.3, 1/22.5, 1/24." Inexpensive card stock models may be gotten via link These are actually 1:35, so a bit small, but may do for your purposes. Then again, by printing them 9% larger, you'll have the scale bang-on! This site has the period pieces you would be looking for, so for very little money might be the best solution. Best of luck to you! TVAG |

g scale is nearer 1/25th scale so far too big and expensive. i would look at some of the xmas train sets or kids toy ones. I bought a couple of sets in a cheapie shop that are almost exact 1/32 scale, ideal for 54mm cowboys. a lot of them are American train styles as well. auction or auction or auction good luck finding one |

Look out for the Timpo Prairie Rocket train set on eBay. It can be expensive, but I bought a used, slightly damaged, set for around $50. USD |
