Friends,

Can anyone tell me if the 1898 British rifle figures from Blue Moon have Lee Metford bolt action rifles? I can't tell from the pictures, but it looks like they have Martinis. Thanks!

Example here:

I think they have the Lee Metford as I think I can see a rifle bolt on one of them but I agree it's very hard to tell. I wonder why they would call them 1898 and then not have the LeeMetford, unless it's to denote a later style of webbing.

However, that written I think the 1898 Highlanders have the Martini Henry.

I think its a Martini.

Two Dragon Productions have Sudan era figs with Lee-Metfords.

Minifigs have figures armed with the Lee Metford.

Oh dear! They definitely are armed with Martinis. The curved receiver top is clearly visible in the image, as is the biggest giveaway: the triangular socket bayonet.

There should be a demotion in this for Major Blunder.

Still, they might be useful to people wanting figures for certain 1880s campaigns, such as those on the NWF.

I'll just do a pile of head swaps to make Indian troops with Martinis. Gotta fight to find nice figures with Lee-Metfords or Lee-Enfields.
