Does anyone have any experiences with Coat d'Arms German Paint Set (or their WW2 paint line more generally)? I put in an order for it, but I'm curious if it will actually suit my needs… I am usually skeptical about ordering paints before I can see them in person since a shade off can make all the difference between a perfect paint pot and a useless one.

I'm hoping to paint up some early war German infantry (ca. 1939-40) with the mossy-green M35 tunic and dark blue trousers. Are there any good candidates in the set for that almost teal or viridian blue-green tunic? I have some close Vallejo colours, but they came out too dark and just too flat to really pop on a model. I'd love to get something close to how these ended up: link (I don't know HOW he did that with Vallejo 920… My pot of 920 certainly doesn't look like that!).

I found this quite helpful when I was painting my WW2 Germans.

There was great variation in the actual colours depending on wear, original manufacturer etc. I have only ever used one Coat d'arms paint colour and that was cornflower blue for my WSS Bavarians, so I don't know how their German paint set will work out. I used the Vallejo German set for my 10mm Germans; they look OK but I should have lightened the colours a little for the smaller scale; perhaps you should try adding a little white to get the effect you want?
