I have not yet painted up my 28mm plastics from the Perry Battle in a Box set, but I wanted a go of their rules, so I set up a game with my 12mm figures. This link gives a blog entry on initial observations and a rules overview.

Nice right up and confirms my thoughts that these are ideal for beginners like me who don't want to much complication in the beginning.

Thanks for the review. Just another tempting reason to give 28mm a try.

I'm getting the perry box for Christmas but I think rulewise I'll stick with 'Guns at Gettysburg' and ebay the rules that come in the box

I've played two games of firepower with the contents from the battle in a box. Managed both games within 3 hours. Was a nice easy yet very fun game to play. Easy to tweak the rules here and there to.
